Description
Keratin is a natural fibrous protein, the main constituent of hair. It is produced by keratinocytes, the main cells of the epidermis.
For A-Lab Keratin liposomal solution, the formula has been designed for optimal assimilation thanks to the combination of a liposomal matrix and the LCA-BioScience® complex, custom-developed with vitamin B8, vitamin B6 and cystin to promote keratin structure and stability.

Properties of the keratin
Structural role
Keratin is a key structural component of hair, nails and the outer layer of skin (epidermis). Hair is 95% keratin.
Protective role
One of keratin's roles is to form a protective barrier against external aggressions (UV rays, chemicals). It thus helps prevent damage and maintain the hair's integrity.
Mechanical strength
Keratin is also important in structures under constant stress, such as hair. It gives these tissues their strength, elasticity and impermeability.

Keratin plays a structural role in the composition of hair. It confers great strength, elasticity and impermeability, while acting as a barrier to external aggression.
Keratin is a fibrous protein found in hair, nails and skin. In hair, it is composed of primary fibers made up of different amino acids, including cysteine and glycine. Primary fibers link with other fibers of the same type to form a secondary helix structure, stabilized by hydrogen bridges. The helices are then linked together and stabilized by disulfide bridges, giving keratin great strength. Cystine and its thiol group (-SH) make this bond possible.

Vitamin B6
Water-soluble vitamin present in three forms:
pyridoxine, pyridoxal and pyridoxamine. Its active form in the body and usable in biological reactions is pyridoxal-5-phosphate or PLP.
Composed of a pyridine nucleus as a central base and a side chain containing various functional groups that give it its properties. Vitamin B6 is involved in protein synthesis, including keratin.
Vitamin B8
Water-soluble vitamin also known as biotin. It exists mainly in a single biologically active form in the body. In dietary supplements, vitamin B8 is mainly found in the form of D-biotin, liposomal biotin or protein-bound biotin, to increase its bioavailability and therefore its efficacy.
Biotin is composed of a urea ring linked to a pentane chain.
It is involved in keratin synthesis.
Cystine
A sulfur-containing amino acid due to the presence of a thiol group (-SH) in its side chain.
Cystine is an organic constituent formed by two cysteine molecules linked by a disulfide point. Its particularity lies in its sulfur content, which is essential for the formation of keratin helices and sheets. Cystine therefore contributes to healthy hair, skin and nails.
