Properties of CoQ10
Role in the mitochondrial respiratory chain
CoQ10 is best-known for its role in the mitochondrial respiratory chain. It works as a mobile carrier of electrons between complexes I and II towards complex III. In this electron transfer chain, the released energy is used to pump protons across the inner mitochondrial membrane, generating an electrochemical gradient used to produce ATP
Cellular antioxidant
CoQ10 also works as a liposoluble antioxidant in the cellular and mitochondrial membranes. By neutralising free radicals and regenerating other antioxidants such as vitamin E, it helps protect cells from oxidative damage
Cardiovascular support
Studies have suggested that CoQ10 could play a positive role in cardiovascular health. It helps produce the energy needed for heart muscle function, and CoQ10 supplements have been used for certain heart conditions
Immune support
CoQ10 also appears to play a role in regulating the immune system and may have positive effects on neurological health
Coenzyme Q10
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) plays an essential role in transporting electrons within the mitochondrial respiratory chain and is involved in the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the primary source of cellular energy
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), also known as ubiquinone, is a liposoluble molecule naturally present in the cells of various organisms, including humans

Even if essential, an isolated nutrient cannot complete a physiological process alone. For this reason, we are strengthening all of our formulas with a specific activation complex delivering the biomolecules it needs to function effectively
